Do you think that McCown really will start, as its been puportedly leaked? Or do you think that Lane Kiffin "let" that information leak to get Detroit to prepare for McCown, when he really intends to start Culpepper?

It just doesnt make much sense. Kiffin, by all measures, has played his cards close to his chest. I dont know why anyone in the Raiders or close to the Raiders would tip his hand when he's just trying to give the Raiders every edge on Sunday. I dont know why McCown would start, either, when Culpepper played better in the last week of the preseason, and also since McCown was WITH the Lions last year, you'd imagine they know him very well and would know just how to play against him...

Maybe I shouldnt mention it in case anyone from the Lions reads this board, but if Culpepper starts on Sunday then I want credit for callilng it :)

I'm a Raiders fan and I have a good feeling about this year. I think Kiffin will start Mc Cown and give Culpepper a little more time to heal up. As for Russell, if and when he signs, all he deserves is to keep the bench warm for real players, who aren't ruled by thier greed!!

Its a tough call. I thought the same thing as you, since i picked up Culpepper for a backup on my fantasy team, but my starter is "probably" but i think im going with Kitna either way, cuz he seems to be healthy enough to start. I'm not taking a chance on Culpepper, but i think that he will play today, but not start. McCown will start, but will be benched pretty soon in the game, but Culpepper won't play all the plays, so that he gets some time in, but not too much... They are letting him ease into it, lol.

I think that all 3 will start at some point in the season. I believe McCown will be starter at beginning ,followed by Culpepper( after he gets used to the offense) and finally Russell when he decides on a fair contract deal.

McCown might start but if the raiders fall behind early they will put Culpepper in. Also there is always leaks from NFL teams remember it was leaked that art shell was going to be fired weeks before he was actually fired. Also NFL teams have enough time to study both guys even if they do switch up at game time they are pros for a reason.

I think that Culpepper will start but it may not be till week 2, I think he needs a little more of a tune up after being out for so long, if he does start week 1, I think it will be a mistake, they need more time to see who fits best!

As a Raiders fan I've given up trying to guess, they're both crappy but I think Culpepper may be less crappy. As Russell hasn't signed yet he doesn't enter the equation, thankfully.

I think they should put JeMarcus Russell or Daunte Culpepper in as starter
