He is the most pathetic, unemotional pianist whose brilliant technique covers up his mediocrity. I have to find somewhere to hide before people attack. Oh..... I forgot the question. do you agree, or is it just me who thinks this way?

I'm not sure here - he has brilliant technique yet is mediocre - that seems like a contradiction.
I must confess to being a somewhat reluctant appreciator of Richter. I chalk this up to a couple of rather overpowering performances that I heard when first listening to him... he seemed (at that point) a bit of a "banger." However, further exposure set me straight - and I now realize that he was quite brilliant. Having said that, when buying recordings I always seem to find someone elses versions of pieces rather than his. For example I have both his and Murray Perahia's versions of Schuman's Piano Concerto - I have to say I prefer Murrays. I have his and Brendel's version of the Appassionata (surely this is where he will overcome) - yet no, I prefer the more cerebral Brendels (then I am a huge fan of Brendel's Beethoven, Schubert and Mozart).
I don't know, I can't really put my finger on why (perhaps I don't know enough), but there you are!

Richter is one of the greatest pianists of the 20th century for a good reason. His playing has plenty of emotion in it, though he might not show it in his face.

No attack at all, heavens, why? You're just on your own here in the matter, as far as I am concerned... :-/

If Richter is 'mediocre', the rest of us are quite beyond hope -- no exemptions.
