Well Edgar R, I think you are confused, I don't want illegals doing anything in my country except LEAVING. I can mow the lawn, I can build a house, I can do all the things an illegal can do if not I can find someone here legally who can. You are twisting words to make your own point but it's twisted and not true. Sorry.

No...CLU-less.

Since when did 'American' start applying to Canadians and Mexicans where United States policies are concerned...and is that going to extend to South America or does the heart stop bleeding somewhere north of there?

While the ACLU does act on behalf of people who are here illegally, they also act on behalf of people who are native, or people whose parents immigrated (legally or illegally) in the distant past.

While I don't always agree with them, and they tend to take things to the extreme, there are situations where their assistance is necessary.

The ACLU is a favorite "whipping boy" of bigots and people who don't understand the constitution.
The ACLU is devoted to defending the Constitution of the United States. Those who oppose the ACLU are in opposition to the constitution, in my opinion.

The ACLU almost always supports those out on the fringe of society. The fact that they represent illegals is no big shocker.

The "American" in their name refers to the fact that their concern is about the US legal system, not some other country. It is not intended to imply that they will involve themselves only on behalf of US citizens.

But they represent a wide range of persons, not just the alien population.

The American Civil Liberties Union acts on behalf of anyone who believes their "inalienable rights" have been infringed upon.
