I really want to play football-any ideas where/how to start?
My high school allows girls on the school team(varsity) if they make the tryouts, same as any other guy. I don't know who to talk to about it to find out tryout dates, etc-any advice?
FYI:I am 5'10" and pretty stocky/muscular, plus I weigh about 180, so I am not a fragile girl... lol never shall be :-)
any ideas on what position to try out for?

Probably safety. But you should focus on speed more than on muscle. And when you hit just try to get as low as possible. You don't have to be the strongest person in the world to cover somebody.

try outs are likely over.get your girlfriends around and play in the back yard for now.don't wait till the last minute next year for try outs.you could join a youth flag football league,you know your area,do they have them? i always wanted to coach a girls team i think it would be great.girls seem to pay attention more...good luck!

try outs are over,school has started already so i don't think you will make a high school team this year,learn to play one of the safety positions,or outside linebacker,good luck

Wide receiver. Because being under 200lbs. means you will stock get knocked around a bit by the big high school boys.
