(6 - 2 + 3)(-7 + 5 -1)

6 -2 = 4 ; 4 + 3 = 7

-7 + 5 = -2 ; -2 + (-1) = -2 - 1 = -3

7*(-3) = -21

Hope this helps!

Work things in the parentheses first
6-2+3=7 (work from left to right)
-7 + 5 - 1 = -3
7 times -3 = -21

(6 - 2 + 3)(-7 + 5 -1)

think of it this way:

positive 6 plus a negative 2 plus a positive 3 =?

negative 7 plus a positive five plus a negative 1 =?

now multiply those two numbers and you have your answer. Do you understand that?

add and subtract and that stuff inside the brackets first, then do the smae to the other bracket, then multiply the two numbers together, because two seperate brackets together without a sign of operation means multiply.

so: (6 - 2 + 3)(-7 + 5 -1)= 7x-3= -21

6 - 2= 4. 4 + 3 = 7. 7 + -7 = 0. 0 + 5 = 5. 5 + -1 =4.

Positive six plus negative two equals positive four. Positive four plus positive three equals positive seven. Positive seven plus negative seven equals zero. Zero plus positive five equals positive five. Positive five plus negative one equals positive four.

I think that I got that right, not sure I wrote it out right but the top would be what you would use. I hope I kinda explained it so you could get it.

Thanks Dr.

ok this is really easy:
first do the first parenthesis
6-2=4+3=7
so now you have (7)(-7+5-1)
now do the second parenthesis
-7+5=-2-1=-3
so now you have (7)(-3)
negative times positive equals negative, 7x3 equals 21
so its -21

just wondering...what grade are you in?
