yes I do....also the mother who left her baby in her car here in Florida this week. How do you forget your baby is in a car?

To be honest, I can't for the life of me understand how parents could do that. Don't they ever look in the back seats before walking away from the cars? I do it all the time to make sure nothing of any value is visible and to make sure the doors are locked. I don't have any small children now but I never unintentionally left a child in the car.

Even though it is law that you keep the child in the car seat in the back seat off the car, they sell 2nd rear view mirrors that you can attach to your front window to point directly at your child in the back
My friend has an extra rear view mirror like what I'm talking about, and she has it perfectly positioned to see her baby girl in the car seat behind her.
So when she looks at the regular rear view, she can also look at the baby rear view and NEVER FORGET that her baby girl is in the seat behind her.

What that mom did was pure neglect. She f u c k e d up big time and she really should pay for it. There is no excuse.

Yes. It's called negligence.

Pink Angel - negligence is charged when it's not intentional. That's the whole point of negligence. And I'm a mother of 2 small children. It's a completely preventable situation. I can't imagine not remembering your kids!

I just saw something on the news that said that she AND her husband had been warned twice before, and have police reports to prove it, to stop leaving their kids in the car.

Yep. I wish they would throw the book at idiot parents who "forget" their kids in the car. You chose to have a child, you are ultimately responsible for it. I know they have so much on their minds doing The Hardest Job in the World, but for Gaia's sake, it can't be too hard to get into the habit of looking in the back seat before locking up your car and leaving it.

No doubt she should be charged, they're saying she's suffering enough, what about that poor girl she baked in her car? I don't care how busy I am, not a minute goes by that I don't think about my baby. I hope everytime she closes her eyes for the rest of her life, she hears and sees her baby crying.

No, I don't think she should be charged. It's awful what happened, she is going to have to live with that accidental loss for the rest of her life. Why on earth should she be charged? I feel so bad for her and the little girl.

It was an accident, not negligence. People judge far too much. Put yourself in her shoes. She just lost her daughter. Please don't judge her, you don't know how you would feel in her shoes.

No. I know it's hard to believe anyone could forget a child is in the car but when someone changes their regular routine it does happen. It was a terribly tragic accident and her punishment will be living with that the rest of her life. One final point is that this has happened more often since car seats were required to be kept in the back seat so parents can't see the child.

well i think just thinking about what she has done ''killed her kids' will be the death of her, it is so heart breaking to think that someone could do this to someone so helpless but seem it is happening each day i think she will need some long term mental help plus jail time

No, she already has to deal with the fact, that her daughter, died and it is her fault. No amount of time, in jail can be no worse, than how she will feel and continue to feel about herself and her daughter. Have a good night.
