The girls range in age from 7-9. I don't want something too scary, but something that will be fun for them. Thanks!

The Haunted Mansion starring Eddie Murphy is geared more towards children (it's based on a ride at Disneyworld) but has ghosts and a mystery involved and would be age appropriate.

Although this is not a horror...or that scary....why not try out "The Labrinyth"? It's a bit older and strange, but I think it would be enough to give them a little scare here and there without it being graphic. It's definitely strange enough that it would keep them interested though. I remember watching it when I was little and really enjoying it. It was a little scary, but nothing overwhelming.

I also agree with whomever said Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, and Gremlins. My little brothers and sisters especially love Beetlejuice.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Not the remake.

The original is excellent. I don't have kids so I'm not sure what they can handle, but this does have some graphic murder, cannibalism, and it is deeply creepy. Not sure if that's ok for 7 year olds.

Chainsaws and meathooks too in one part I just remembered....and a hammer.

Hmm. Maybe the 9 year olds could stomach it if they were versed in the cinematic history of the slasher film and had strong stomachs and bad vision, but you best leave the 7 year olds to their crayons and milk.

Good luck to all of them!

I agree with Zyggy. Haunted Mansion is a good movie. I was going to suggest Lady in the Water. It's not as scary as it sounds. It's actually more of a sad story, and there is a little comedy in it, and maybe a few jump-outta-your-seat parts.
