these where givin to me so not sure how they work but r they meant to go futher that 6ft b4 cuttting off can some plz tell me how to work it properly

thanks do i have to reset it and the router is a d-link dwl-7000ap what do i have to do a step by step if you could no worries if not but router illiterate sorry

The Dlink site does not list the DWL7000AP as it has been discontinued. it does show a DWL7100AP which is similar.

These are ACCESS POINTS not routers. They are normally used with a non wireless router to add wireless ability. Yours is a terrific access point in that it is 802.11a, b and g which means it works on 5 gig and 2.4 gig as well.

Installed correctly you can get up to about a maximum of 100FT indoors, but only with careful positioning and some luck.
