I know I am forbidden by my husband and my church from doing many things during that time of the month. Is this fair?

It isn't fair.
And men should experience it too.

I guess in the end, it doesn't really matter what I think - or anyone else for that matter - You are the one whose opinion matters. I personal don't care what you do during that "time of the month". Do you care if my athletes foot flares up?

Obviously YOU have a problem with how your husband and church treat you. Are you contagious with something during that time that we don't know about? If YOU are unhappy with the treatment - then don't put up with it. There are other churches. And marriage is about compromise. If your husband can't change, then seek counseling (not your minister/priest/pastor). Hopefully you don't live in a third world country where you are little more than a piece of property.

I am trying to think of a way to answer your "Q" without offending your decision to attend this church, or being married to someone choosing to shame you for being a woman. I CAN'T. Please run as fast as you can to anywhere that allows you to be what God intended. You are a woman. That fact alone should be celebrated.
Now if there should be any rule concerning contact with women and their monthly cycleI would suggest the week before their period; spouses, or the woman should move to a hotel a tent, or any where that allows NO contact during this week should be a law. If this were to be law, the divorce rate would decline drastically. He said tongue in cheek. Lady I will pray for you.

You didn't let us know what type of things you are forbidden from doing. I think we have come beyond that point in our society. I don't think the fact that you are on your period should limit anything you do.

That is crazy. I still do the same things as always. No one can forbid me from doing anything.

that seems kind of stupid to me...in my religion we're exempt from things, but (i think) in a good way...like fasting, for example.
