no. Since horses and donkeys are relatively closely related on the evolutionary scale, they can breed and create a mule, however, the mule is sterile and cannot reproduce. Even though chimpanzees are more closely related to humans than to gorillas or orangutans, we have been separated for so long that we cannot reproduce with them. If you consider the many different races of humans who have variable characteristics, if we had been separated for an extended period of time (usually hundreds of thousands of years) then we could quite possibly had speciation within our own species (Homo sapien). Since humans have only been around for about 200,000 years, and we have been separated from our ape ancestors for millions, it is impossible to reproduce unless modern science meshes our DNA artificially.

D B Cooper isn't right about mules. They are not always male. About 1/2 are female and the other 1/2 are male just like any other offspring. They are almost always sterile though.
I have been curious about human/chimp hybrids for a long time, but suspect it isn't possible. I can't believe it hasn't been tried more than once. If it had worked even once, I'm sure someone would have reported it.

Donkeys and horses, a canary and parakeet, male bobcat and your housecat, etc.
They are called mules--always male, always sterile.
Despite similarities, these animals can't have offspring, rabbit and hare, lion and tiger, grizzly and polar.
Jury still out: human and neanderthal, mammouth and elephant.
