Yes! Girls in junior high and high school shouldnt get tattoos!!! Right now, thats like the cool thing to do.. they might not even like it when they are older and they'll just have to deal with it .. but anyways.. i think its not a good idea, but thats just me.

I would definitely say no. A couple reasons (and I got my first one when I was 15 so I know)... 1. ANY respectable tattooist will NOT tattoo someone that young, so that will leave you with the only option I had- which was to go to some guy that didn't care how old I was because he was just starting and needing practice which = bad tattoo 2. Your taste in things will change SO much in the next few years, so as cliche as it is, at this point it's true- chances are you won't be into what you got in a few years- as anyone what they were into at 13-15 and then in their 20s, even 30s... things change, big time! 3. AND if you do get something you don't want anymore, you have to go through laser removal (like me) which is the most painful thing in the whole wide world!!! 4. Another cliche- but it is harder to get a job- I had dreams of being a fashion designer so it wouldn't matter, but in reality it turns out I work in an office for a major corporation- spent the first 6 months in long sleeves, and I wouldn't have gotten the job if I would have shown them in the interview.

All in all... it won't hurt to wait... tattoos will be around FOREVER, so wait a few years, and if you still want that tattoo- GO FOR IT!!! :)

I think tattoos are a bad idea at any age. To me a tatoo is a sign of weakness. It's like, a person doesn't know how to express themself intelligently so they have to post their "identity" on their body to prove to themself, and others, that they stand for something. It's just silly.
At 13 or 14, you're definitely too young. You're still changing your mind about everything you like. Just think about all the times you've changed your taste in clothes and music. What if you were only allowed to listen to your favorite group from four years ago for the rest of your life?
You'll be a completely different person in just a few years.

I think 14 is too young. A tattoo is a lifetime commitment... that's a long time. How do you know you'll like the tattoo 5 years from now? 10 years? I want to know what kind of parents let their 13 and 14 year old daughters get tattoos!!

Your tastes will change so much each year as you grow older and you will look at the tattoo a few years from now and regret it. So it's not so much that you are too young (even though I think you are too young - no offense) it's that tattoos are permanent and even if you get it removed later it will leave a nasty scar. Don't worry about what the other girls are doing - they will be envious of you in a few years that you don't have an ugly tattoo.

It's stupid to get one if you are under 18, at 13-14 you are still very immature (no offense) as you have little life expeirence, and are haven't expeirence as much as an 18 year old, There is a age restriction in the US regarding tattoo's for a reason.If you want one, wait until you are of age, so you are positive it is what you want.

A) It's illegal in most (if not all states) until 18. EVEN with parent's permission. It may not be a safe tattooer if they are doing it on a fourteen year old. There are many risks associated with unsafe tattoo practices.

B) The band you like now or that pretty flower with most likely seem stupid when you're 25.

I love tattoos, but it would be in your best interest to wait until you turn eighteen. It'll give you something to look forward to =}

As far as I know, it's not legal for people to get a tattoo at 13 or 14. I think you have to be 18--unless, of course, you have parental consent. That aside...I think it's a HUGE mistake to have any sort of permanent body alteration performed at that young age. Children that age (and make no mistake--13 & 14 year olds are children) have no concept of what "the rest of your life" or "permanent" really mean. Their bodies are still growing, which means any design is going to stretch and become distorted as they grow. By the time they're seniors in high school, their "uber-cool" tattoos will likely not much resemble the original image, and they'll be embarrassed and/or pissed off about it. A tattoo is forever--unless, of course, you're willing to get them removed...and tattoo removal is expensive, painful, and far less than 100% effective. These children are getting carried away in their urge to be "big girls"...but are clueless as to what that really means.

It's not right AT ALL! Anyone who tattoos kids that young is unprofessional & should be reported. Those girls are going to regret those when they are older, they're bodies are still growing & the tattoos are going to defrom.

Wait until you're 18, it'll be so worth the wait.

No way, you should be at least 16. It is a really big decision, and you shouldn't be making it at 13. I grantee that when those girls are older they will regret it. you can't get rid of a tattoo. when they are 80 and it is all wrinkled and faded you will wish you never got it.

The bigger issue is whether or not the tattoo artist will even do a tattoo on someone aged 14. Some states might allow it with parental consent, but it is ultimately up to the artist. Some artists will not tattoo a minor whether they have the parental permission or not. Sorry to be a bummer, but the reality of it is...wait another four years for your ride in the tattoo chair.
