Me and my boyfriend are about to move out
We can decide between an apartment
and a trailer. The rent isnt much of a difference thats why were deciding which would be better, thier both two bedrooms and etc. not really much of a difference btwn the two. My boyfriend would rather have the trailer because its like our own little house, we have a little yard and etc...its also closer to our parents and jobs. I like the apartments but i dont really care either way. The trailers are nice too, theyre not dirty or anything. Looks nice and clean.

I want to hear from other people who have a trailer or had a trailer, wed be living there for about two years, me my boyfriend and a baby. When you tell someone you live in a trailer do they think of you as trashy and poor? My mom seems to think like that for some odd reason

First, stop calling it a trailer. It's manufactured housing. Call it a modular home. Voila! No more visions of trailer trash.

If the rent is much different and both are two bedrooms, go with the tra ... er .. modular home. Being closer to work and your parents is a plus. Having a small yard is good, especially with a child.

Other positives for the modular: you won't have neighbors over head stomping around or neighbors below complaining that you're stomping around.

Oh let's not forget that apartment buildings never have enough parking and it's never close. You can probably park right next to the front door of that modular.

Good luck.

An apartment. For many reasons.

1 - As many other people said, if a tornado hits, and you live in a trailer, you are totally screwed.
2 - Trailers take more upkeep than apartments.
3 - In some apartments, you have pools, parks nearby, etc.
4 - Trailers rust really easily. Trust me, eventually, they will not look nice and clean looking.

I always say a trailer park is the first place a tornado hits. They aren't stable, and during a severe storm you aren't safe as you would be in an apartment. While I hate having neighbors so close, it's harder to break into an apartment than it is a trailer. I don't think I've ever seen one that didn't look like a strong wind wouldn't blow it over.

I'd go for an apartment.

I've never lived in a trailer, but I've seen pictures of trailers after tornadoes have ripped them to shreds.

The apartment would be much safer in a big storm.

Listen to your Mother. And remember, they are also dangerous.
