It is hard to go wrong anywhere in the park. It's one of my favorite places in the U.S.

My two favorite spots were:

Avalanche Lake -- it's a big of a hike on the west side of the continental divide (about an hour). Well worth it, though, as it's just a spectacular setting once you get there.

Sun Point -- a fabulous spot on St. Mary Lake. The snow-covered mountains frame the lake magnificently.

The Going to the Sun road is an obvious attraction, so be sure to stop along the way as often as possible. The lodges are wonderful and worth a visit. A boat ride to the middle of Lake McDonald gives you a great perspective on the place.

And be sure to bring hiking boots. There are easy walks throughout the area.

Bring your hiking boots for sure...there are so many great places to hike there! I was at Glacier National Park a few years ago and did many great hikes; most of which I can't remember the names of. But one that I do remember and that is very popular is the hike to Hidden Lake. The trail starts behind the Logan Pass Visitor Center which you'll find at the top of the Going to the Sun road. It's only 1.5 miles one-way to the Hidden Lake overlook and the scenery is great plus you will probably see mountain goats along the way. We saw several of them on the way there and back and I got some great pictures. The main thing to remember about this trail though is that the parking area fills up very quickly, (at least in the summer; I'm not sure what it's like in the fall), so the earlier in the day you can get there, the better. One more thing: if you do plan on doing a good amount of hiking there, I recommend a book called "Glacier Day Hikes" by Alan Leftridge. I used it and was very happy with the hikes that we did.
