I'm working for an international accounting firm with offices in 149 countries. It will take me about 2 years to be eligible to transfer abroad, but I want to start thinking now in case I need to learn a new language.

I don't have to worry about the cost of living, as my salary would be adjusted to an appropriate amount for whatever country I'm in.

I am looking for somewhere with a population that is not too dense. I will be in the country for at least one year, so I would like to go somewhere radically different from the U.S. I feel I could understand most of the important differences between the US and the UK in a few weeks or months.

Places I have considered include Egypt, New Zealand, Russia and the United Arab Emirates.

I am very interested in politics and religion. I also really like performing arts and different foods. In other words, I won't be picking because of outdoor activities like skiing or hiking. Please tell me where I should go and why!

I would personally say NZ ecause its the only one of those countries where as an Amercan you are unlikely to be disliked or targeted its also in traveling range of Asia and Austrailia and has more sheep then people. Of those i have ben to Russia and was very impressed in 1987 but have heard things have detoriated since then. The Uae is supposed to have some neat stuff like an ice bar in the dessert really and a man made island hotel and the world's tallest building

New Zealand or Australia. You will not have to learn a new language to live in either country and there are not too many people there. Then, when you get home sick, you will not have to go far to get to a place that is comfortable to you. If you go to Egypt, Russia, or the United Arab Emirates, you will not have a place to escape from the strange culture.

wow.. how lucky ! I'm going to warn you .. You will not like Egypt or United Arab .. If you were going to visit as a vacation thats another story.. otherwise .. to live there is horrible.

Well.. My top 5 personal picks would be:

1. Brazil - Its paradise.. Beautiful beaches.. Beautiful People.. Good Food.. Music .. Great Culture

2. Japan - Who Wouldn't want to visit Japan ! Pluss they have all that high tech =)

3. Italy - Romantic ... Ancient History .. beautiful Architecture.. sexy men .. sexy language

4. New Zealand - Just a beautiful country

5. Scotland - FESTIVALS !

.. If I wouldn't be able to go to those countries then my next pick would be either ..

Ireland
England
Germany

If you are interested in Brazil as 1 of your choices.. message me and i'll tell you much about it with personal experiences

Have fun
Be safe

India is good if you like different foods, religion, performing arts .... England is also a good choice but I would also suggest NZ or Australia - the quality of life there is excellent & you wouldn't need to learn a new language.

Good luck! : )
