What movie is this? I think Harvest is part of the title?

I think it was made in the '70. A thriller/horror. Similar to The Wicker Man, but it's like a coven of females controling a private fertility ritual where they kill the man after breeding and this one man (not THE man) saw it, so they blinded him and cut out his tongue so he could not reveal their secret. In the end, blind and mute, he sits listening to someone read to him as he is cared for.

It was originally a great movie, but one of the minor cast members (played the daughters boyfriend) refused to sign some licensing thing they cut him out.. and edited any reference to him, or scene in which he took part.. this is what they released on video.. the movie no longer makes sense because they cut out all the pieces that tie it together.. including the BEST scene.. (which ironically is the picture they have on the cover) with Tracy gold covered in blood..)

And basically, the remade version of the Wicker Man was essentially a mashed up version of Harvest Home with Wicker Man.. there were some scenes which are almost identical to Harvest Home that do not even make sense in relation to the original Wicker Man..

Christ angel that's a blast from the past!!! ...i was so scared of that when i was a kid ..i think it was called 'harvest home' something like that ..i remember the part when a young boy (i think) was choking or unable to breathe and the old woman used a pen knife to cut a hole in his windpipe .. is this the same one you are thinking off.. I'm going to hunt it down myself now..Thanks for that question it brought back at lot of memories!! Cheer's
