Hold a hair dryer and a shop vac on the wax at the same time. It will melt and vacuum up the wax simultaneously.
Used this method on church carpet after a wedding - worked perfectly.

There is a box just above this page that says "search for questions". Try various keyword searches. I.E. "Candle wax removal", etc. Then, click on the "search" box.
Meanwhile......try ice and then scrape it up with a knife. Then, use a hard bristle cleaning brush and brush up the nap of the carpet. Good luck. It will never be the same. Try moving your furniture over the spot or use a rug. LOL

A candle (non scented) those days melted down and without my understanding the wax drained into my wall radiator vents. as quickly as I smelt something I rushed over. yet subsequently, each and every time the heating comes on (on a timer) for sure the radiator heats up and lower back i'm getting the scent of wax. i do no longer stay there lots because of the fact i'm carer to my mom. yet each and every time I walk interior the overpowering scent of candle wax is interior the room . (this is a small attic flat)

After wax hardens, scrape up excess with a dull knife.
Place part of a paper bag over the remaining wax.
Place a warm iron over the bag and press gently.
Repeat until all the wax is transferred to the paper bag.
I have not tried this but I got it from about.com

Just above this question, there's a space marked "Search for questions:".
Type in your question - maybe something like how do I get wax off the carpet? - and click the Search button next to the box.
A list of questions like these will appear. Good luck!

Get an icepack on the area that it's spilled on, let it freeze, then run the vacume cleaner over it and let it break it up.
To read and find out others who have asked the questions... look right below where it says "ask" and you'll see a search for questions space. type in the key words, then press "search." Good luck!
