Men abuse women because it makes them feel powerful and controlling. Usually an abuser was either abused himself, or has very bad self esteem.
Women who allow themselves to be abused do it because they are under the assumption that they are unworthy of better treatment. This is usually reinforced by the man who tells them "you are ugly", you are stupid", no one could ever love you"etc. Hence the reason, every woman should have at the very minimum an associates degree. If you have an education,you have the ability to make your own life. Education = self asteem, power, purpose and a direction to go in when everything goes south.

Men abuse thier women most of the time because they dont know how to control thier anger. Sometimes a girl can push a guy so far that they snap and POW there goes the girl...I am not by any means saying it is sometimes right, but there are times where both the male and the female are at fault (it could have been prevented). Guys sometimes just need to be able to vent somehow...But a relationship is very unstable and will not last long if a girl can make a guy get to this point..I was in a relationship once where a girl in El, Paso TX made me so angry all the time and made me want to kick the living crap out of her and her name was Heather too(trippy)...The only way I was able to stop myself was to play soccer to vent my anger and to find another girl...She was so beautiful and made love to me really really well, but in the long run I could nt stand her anymore and it was just not worth getting into trouble..
