In high school history class they said atleast 30% of the population of western europe perished. In newer studies on the subject they usually say its 45-55%. So you have a whole lot less people and the survivors of the plague are terrified. A terrified worker isn't always the most productive.

the black death killed poeple which made less worker which equals less prodution which mean inflation. then alot of poeple wanted to get out of the cities and rural areas becuase that is where alot of the diease was so then u have massive amounts of migration from country to country which caused alot of promblems in it self but this also leads back to inflation becuase evey one moved to get a way from the black death.
