My son's birthday coming up (6) and I'm having a bit of a struggle deciding on which to give him...Want your help please:
a). Nintendo DS
b). Leapster...LMAX or just original v. of leapster.
c)PSP
d). Vtech Vsmile Learning system..for the 2nd time.
e) Muzzy..
What do you think, and what would you opt with if it were you? Bearing in mind that these are all games that he likes...Would have gotten them all, but...Credit cards need to be paid off. Thnx!

Thanks so much you guys...I so appreciate you r assistance and thoughtful feedback! Snaffle, you went tgrough all that for little ole me? lol...awww. Have a three yr. old my self that wants a DS, like what is he going to do with that? lol...Usually buy a gift for the other if I'm celebrating a B-day for one. Gameboy, perhaps for the 3 yr. old. Think before you answer: Thanks, I was thinking about a tricycle for him, and maybe I'll do just that to...but we have lots of card, educational, and board games for the kids....Something fun I figured, that's why the question was made a selective multiple choice poll. Again thanks guys!!!

as the parent of a 13 year old girl, i would suggest not over indulging your child. you want to give him something to look forward to.
if you are giving him ALL of these gifts because he has earned them, that is one thing. but if you are doing it JUST because it is his birthday, then i would suggest against it.
there may be a day when you can't afford to buy these types of things & he won't be able to understand because you have done it in the past. or he may just feel entitled to the lavish gifts & won't find it necessary to earn them.
but as a gift option, i would get the most age appropriate

Nintendo DS. Don't go for a PSP because he is to young for them, they are pretty boring unless you have a lot of money to spend on games.
Not the leapster, he'll get bored after a day, trust me, my cousins did.
Since he already had one of the Vtech things, I would try to go for something new and different.
Don't get him muzzy, no kid wants a gift he can learn from. =D
I say Nintendo DS. If you decide against that than go for the PSP. But I don't recommmend the others.

Just done a straw poll of the 3 small boys in the house and Nintendo won hands down.
Oldest son said the others were embarassing (he's 9)
Middle son said it was cool and he would be cool for having one (he's 6)
Youngest son said he wanted one because he didn't want the others having one and it wasn't fair and then burst in to tears (3 and a half)
Thanks you for providing the domestic bliss that is motherhood so much more fun tonight :)

Muzzy, it'll benefit him later in life. He'll know a second language and will also hav a greater capacity for learning. It'll be fun too.

The Leapster LMAX. Both of my siblings have it and they love it more than their Nintendo DS', and besides, it's more educational.

i have a DS and i love it, but he might be too young for it. Maybe not get him any (i dont know what b, d, or e are) and get him something he might enjoy, like a different toy? or get him a muzzy, its a cute name!
sorry i am no help!

Ok, he's too young to truely enjoy (a) and (B)...I'd have to say Muzzy.
I wish I would have learned a second language. Now, I'm taking a Spanish class and it is really hard to keep both in mind.
