I lost my wife one year ago (Sept. 5) so I have some insight in to your problem.

Yahoo Personals, volunteer, church, or work. The reality is that you will not meet someone unless you put yourself in the proximity of other single people. If a fellow asks you for a date and you like him, say yes. If you meet a fellow that you like but he doesn't ask you, then ask him for a date (it will cause butterflies and anxiety, but men have been doing it for generations). Sitting at home will not get the job done. Do you have friends that know any single guys? Network!

The best of luck to you. You have my sympathy. Losing a spouse is horrible experience and it causes pain that others can not really understand.

I have no answer about the "how", but I want to say this:

The best testament you can give about your relationship with your late husband is your ability to forge ahead and find love.

I absolutely adored my father and was very much a Daddy's girl, but if my Mom found love again - it would make me happy and would have made my father happy as well.

As for the how: Church, perhaps? Or volunteering? Chamber of Commerce in the area?

Good luck, take care and know that your happiness is important!

i think the best way is through mutual friends. it seems a bit safer than some other ways. there are also community organizations, church gatherings, bowling leagues. anything that gets you out there.

Volunteer.

Try church singles groups. Try yahoo personals.

Avoid work related relationships.
