my opinion: if there is no one to hear it, how do we know it fell?

Of course it makes a sound. If a tree falls outside of the forest, for example, right next to you, it would make a sound, so why wouldn't it make a sound in a forest?

Yes,it still makes a sound.When it hits the floor,it makes a thump sound.Just because no one heard the thump sound,doesnt mean it didnt happen.Also,what kind of forest has no living creatures in it?? It doesnt seem logical...
But dont stress your brain over it..it is just a rhetorical question.haha.But it is fun to think about..That's why I love philosphy.=)

even though no human is there to hear it....the sound can be heard by the animals and the earth...sound travel through the earth surface...so although u cannot hear it...u will feel a slight vibrations,,,which is kind of how deaf ppl hear, they hear by feelign vibrations...so yeah...they do make a sound

Depends on your definition of sound.
In physics, sound is made whether it hits an ear or not.
If you describe sound as something that is received, then no, there was nothing received by a receptor, so no sound was made.
