my friend wants to send a cheque through the post, what does anyone think about the reliability of the UK post office, would any of you do this?

There should not be a problem, just ensure that the envelope is brown, so that you can not tell what is in it.

as far as i am aware (not living in the UK) they they have one of the most reliable services in the world --- if you make sure the cheque can not been seen then it should be safe enough
