As we get older, besides the back--the knees and the shoulders are prone to arthritic changes. The "clicking" noise is actually -AIR- being pushed out of the synovial fluid in the joint, and is relatively harmless. It could be a slight sign that the -cartilege- in your knee joint is slightly worn away/cracked but 80% of PEOPLE HAVE THIS AND DONT REALISE!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is perfectly normal, and only becomes a problem if your knee ever "locks".

The same thing is true with your shoulder. I would only become concerned if you develop: swelling, reddness, warmer then usual or difficulty raising your shoulder or moving your knee.

I've had clicking in my shoulders and knees for most of my adult life. Some people are just more prone to this. It often occurs in younger people who are very athletic.

I would not worry about it, unless you have any of the other symptoms mentioned.
