First you will have to determine what type of slots you have for RAM then you will have to go buy it from circuit city or staples,or best buy or some other electronics store. There are many different types of ram so make sure you get the right one and make sure if you are using more than one stick of ram that both are the same speed.Hope this helps you.

Ok, this is easy. I did it all by myself. Okay, first off, get some RAM. Make sure you buy the kind that is compatible with your computer. A good way to find out for sure is to open up your computer, find the RAM that's in there. Take a look at it, and then buy some that has the same kind of contacts (the little gold connections). Okay, now that that's done, you can pretty much just figure out where it goes. Near where the RAM is in your computer, there should be some empty slots that accept more RAM. Make sure your computer is off and just stick the RAM you bought into the hole. Then, turn on the computer. It should register. You can check the memory and processor speed in control panel under SYSTEM. It shows how much RAM you have. It should have gone up. That's it. Just plug and play. Put the RAM in the hole. Too easy.

First step: You need to know what is yr RAM type, how many of it you have, how many memory slots you have and what is substitude RAM that is acceptable to yr computer.
To find out all of that EASIEST WAY is to go to www.crucial.com and look for offer to test yr memory online.
Click on it. If you have firewall installed the moment Crucial's server contacts yr computer you'll get pop-up window (warning) from yr firewall that another computer is trying to reach yr computer - click ALLOW -
Crucial's server will run test on yr memory online and tell you just everything: how many memory RAM you have installed,
in how many slots, how many memory slots you have available to install new one as well as and this is best feature what is new substitute RAM you can install, how many RAM you can install. Newer RAM is always better because it operates on higher frequencies which means moves more data in shorter time period.
Whole precess takes very short time - just a few seconds.
Memory RAM is always installed in pairs of equal value - that way both computer and RAM operate most efficiently. Lets say you have installed 1 Mb
RAM - that means you have 2 slots of 512 kb each - to upgrade to 2 Mb you need to buy 2 memory sticks of 1 Mb each of the type Crucial's server told you is compatible to yr computer
- buy always newer RAM that operates on higher frequency than yours for the reasons explained above - disconnect computer from power source - touch computer to disconnect yr static electricity from yr body - open memory lid or desktop case - you will see memory slots - take old memory out and trash it - put new memory sticks in memory slots - close lid or case - turn power on - start computer - done
easy job - takes 2 minutes - no tools required except maybe screwdriver to open lid or case
2Mb of new memory (2 sticks of 1 Mb each) for my computer in compusa is $ 120 (just to have an idea)
