what is it like in the desert at night? could anyone describe what its like and how you would feel?

oh this is the desert at night in the summer:


the cicadas have quieted in the trees
and stars pop out of the darkening east
the western horizon is spilled pastel paint
the crescent moon is rising distant and faint
cradling venus herself in his arc
and a coyote howls out from where shadows are dark



this is the desert at night in the winter:


all hallows day is long past
november is a low hanging cloud
the dew frost yellows the grass
and the rabbits and groundhogs have drowned
in the dark sky a lightening bolt flashes
for a moment the sillouhette of a spindly tree
reminds me of a skeleton
he gnashes
his empty jaws madly at me

it is cold at night, but serene, and beautiful...and it is awesome, in the summer ...I love it there...it is romantic..but be prepared
