This Site Might Help You.

RE:
How do you say bless you in 25 different languages?

You should realize that there are many cultural customs in language for what one would say to another after one party sneezes. The phrase someone gave you, "Gesundheit" does not mean "God bless you" as we might say in English. It literally means "healthiness," yet that is what one would say in German in a situation in which someone sneezes.

I know that Japanese has no custom for saying any pat phrase when someone sneezes. You could ask a Japanese to say / translate "God bless you" literally, but it would sound weird to any native speaker of Japanese.

hi its me again, just thought i would let you know of another site which gives more insite into more gestures as shown in the list, 1 Using one hand: 1.1 Approximation 1.2 Bang bang 1.3 Beckoning sign 1.4 Benediction and blessing 1.5 Blah-blah 1.6 Check, please 1.7 Clenched fist 1.8 Pound fist 1.9 Clinton thumb 1.10 Crossed fingers 1.11 Cuckoo sign 1.12 Fig sign 1.13 Finger Beside Nose 1.14 Finger Snap 1.15 Hook 'em Horns 1.16 Horns 1.17 The Fangul 1.18 Kodály Hand Signs 1.19 Knocking on wood 1.20 Middle finger 1.21 Money sign 1.22 Moutza (Palm of hand) 1.23 OK 1.24 Pointing 1.25 Salute 1.26 Shaka 1.26.1 Similar gestures 1.27 "Thanks!" These can be found in the Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. There is alot to read but well worth it and very interesting. Amazing what one finds..... as being acceptable to some but quite offensive for others. After reading the passages, I find it is a topic, that is not to be taken so lightly. If I had not read your question, I would have missed out on this. So thank you, for broading my knowledge on such an important aspect of our everyday life. Even I have used hand gestures without real thoughts to it and as a result of it being passed on on to me as a child or the culture we are living in. but now i will be more aware of how i conduct myself in public, so as i don't offend anyone.
