I took it with first child, second child's doctor didn't want me to have it so I suffered. Wish I had ignored him. The sickness drove me to suicidal thoughts some days.
First child is now 15 and an honors student, so I tend to believe it is safe.
I have also heard ginger pills help, and since that is just a spice is no harm to the baby.
Good Luck!

I heard about women taking Unisom for "morning" sickness online and rushed right out to Walgreens to buy some. I double-checked with the pharmacist and she told me under no circumstances should I ever take something like that if I was pregnant. Fighting tears, I bought some ginger cookies and went home, still nauseous. About a week later, I saw my doctor and asked him about it and he said he had never heard of that "remedy". If your doctor suggested it, though, I would trust him/her. My doctor, however, prescribed the prenatal vitamin, Premisis RX, which has a natural anti-emetic. I still feel pretty crappy, but my nausea is completely gone. As for all the other home-remedies (ginger, sea-bands, lemon, even emetrol, etc), none worked for me, but it never hurts to try. Hang in there!

Hi--
I've taken Unisom a few times during my pregnancy. My doctor recommended it for the nausea, and my husband is a pharmacist and said it was fine to take. It worked pretty well for me, but it makes you sleepy too so be careful with that--just so you know. Since your doctor gave you the OK, I'd give it a try; if it doesn't work, you can always try something else. Good luck!!

No I never have taken Unisom but I lost 10 lbs the first few months of pregnancy due to morning sickness. I would eat small snacks all day usually every 2 hours, I tried preggie pops from babiesrus but they didn't work to well for me. I would have crackers near my bed to eat before I would get up, I would carry sliced lemons in a ziploc bag in my purse and whenever I would feel sick I would smell them and that seemed to help.
After I got sick on a boat to Catalina Island and was scared to go back to the main land I found a drugstore on the island and found Sea Bands and they worked pretty good. http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=152291&catid=71583&trx=PLST-0-SEARCH&trxp1=71583&trxp2=152291&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-SEARCH

If your doctor okayed it, it should be safe. You could get a second opinion if you are that unsure.
