George W. Bush hadn't:

Backed off Clinton administration's anti-terrorism efforts.
Shelved the Hart-Rudman report.

Appointed new anti-terrorism task force under Dick Cheney. The group did not even meet before 9/11.

Called for cuts in anti-terrorism efforts by the Department of Defense.

Gave no priority to anti-terrorism efforts by Justice Department.

Ignored warnings from Louis Freeh, George Tennant, Paul Bremer, and Richard Clarke about the urgency of terrorist threats.

Halted Predator drone tracking of Osama bin Laden.

Did nothing in wake of August 6 C.I.A. report to president saying Al Qaeda attack by hijack of an airliner almost certain.

Failed to order any coordination of intelligence data, missed opportunity to stop the 9/11 plot.

at least ashcroft was smart enough to avoid passenger planes and use charter planes two months before 911 because he took the threats seriously....makes you wonder.

Yes, but there would have been continued efforts to attack the Twin Towers even after that plot was thwarted.

Newsweek has information from the soldiers who hunted for bin Laden that the White House demanded to be in the loop and refused permission to confront if caught unless overwhelming force was brought in to guarantee a success story for the News, and not a failed mission. Pathetic.

The past is past and the best we can do is look to the future.

Yes the eternally long period of time Bush was in office before the attacks certainly was enough for him to solve all the worlds ills, round-up all the badguys and reverse global climate change.

Hell what person couldn't fix everything in 8 months, even though he was busy replacing all the furniture and paintings that the Clinton's stole from the White House.

I mean those reports had existed through all 8 years of the Clinton administration and even though they couldn't do anything about it in 8 years, it was certainly ample time for the Bush admin to completely shut down all Islamic Militant organizations across the globe.

Just imagine how accepting you leftists would have been had he acted on those reports and rounded up a bunch of Arabs before they got on planes. I can just see the pride and support you would have displayed, had he arrested a bunch of college students before they committed any crime. Hell the ACLU probably would have changed their charter in light of the brilliance of the Bush administration, and become prosecutors.

Dick Cheney was too busy already planning the dividing of Iraq's oil fields to different Oil Corporations.

But our President had a chance to show how in control he was when the planes crashed into WTC 1 and WTC 2. Oh yeah, he just sat there like a little boy reading My Pet Goat.

I have always thought that if Bush had not been PUT into office the twin towers would not have been targeted.

Looking towards the future IS important but learning from our past and not repeating bad decisions and disasters is just as or more important.

No. The 9/11 report proved this was planned YEARS before Bush took office and clearly placed the blame on Clinton.

None of that's true.

If it were, the government wouldn't somehow accidently let that "leak out"

Just like that stupid Loose Change video, all false.
