Kyla.. She must be flying to see her pimp. Did I just hear a H0E? I have not seen her on the Today Show but from what I heard, it was actually worse than the Yahoo News pics I saw and I have to say. This girl is definetely better off just naked. At least the bottom half of her that is. Her skirt didnt even FIT her right, you can almost imagine her whole putay in your head. Yea, some of you are going to think... well uhhh bikini this bikini that and how it's normal to see a bikini lady walking on the beach. Someone please explain a bikini lady on a plane. And i have to point out.... Victoria Secret style... there's a thin line between a very sexy woman and should i say.. a s1utish looking female.
Point being.. I really would not want my kids to forced to see her panties on a plane and worse... think it's OK to dress like that in public. It's all about respect and understanding the world consists of more than just you and that you need to make others feel comfortable around u as well

She is way under my standards for a "hot" woman. So please refrain from answering this question with "your jealous". Jeri lee is hot. Angelina Jolie is hot. Kailiyah Rey is hot. Crystal Mendoza is hot. Kyla Ebbert is... uhhhhhhhh ...

Wow... I realized a lot of guys are standing up for her. I personally would not want to see a man in athletic shorts that are short enough to reveal any in appropriate parts. But yes you do have a point, but I disagree with you saying everyone uses their children as excuses. It is because our children these days are so corrupted in ways and I wonder why.... I am only 20 but I still remember the first day of freshman year.. when all the girls at school looked like... well... FRESHMAN girls. Graduated 2005 and NOW I LOOK BACK... all i have to say is.. WOW, the freshmen girls these days look like they're in their 20s. It's amazing. Yes, everyone should be able to dress the way they want but I would be offended by any one that walks around with their skirt/shorts as short as that. Like i said, there are still people who are very conservative. If you want to show off some bottox, please go to the club or somewhere where everyone is actually enjoyin the sight of your ***.

Sweet 'n' sour, what kind of college did you go to that lets you grad at 20, 2 year community college? If so, please go to an accredited 4 year college and learn how to accept differences; you sounded like the women beater of Afghanistan.
Based on your comment of your children (assuming you actually have children) and John B.; you strike me as an undereducated single mother possibly with a lower middle class / lower class background.

Please. Her privates were not showing, and more is seen at public swimming pools with kids around and nobody thinks twice. It's sad how much we accept violence, yet have an uproar about a little skin. Make war, not love. Nice message. And nice way to start removing freedoms from the American public.
Especially considering nothing was said to her on the return flight in the same outfit, there appears to be no standard that the airline follows.
And this bit: "you need to make others feel comfortable around u as well" You realize this was a flight in the US, right? Yeah, lets make everyone comfortable. It's really easy to do, just give up all your rights and let someone else define your world.
Should you be asked to get off a plane because someone doesn't like your perfume or cologne?
Because you're wearing sandals and your bare toes bother someone?
Maybe you're wearing shorts and your varicose veins are "inappropriate" for family viewing.
Maybe folks wearing a rainbow necklace shouldn't be allowed on the flight without hiding it.
Tattoos? Nope, can't fly.
Imagine the horrible woman who actually let her bare ankles been seen. How inappropriate. It's nice to see we've come so far only to take a giant step backwards.
She made it to the airport. She made it through the airport. She made it to the doctors and back. Who knows how many people didn't complain? It's OK for public, but not for our passenger compartments? Where is the line?

Whether she is "hot" or not isn't the point. Whether she can pull of wearing the clothes isn't, either. And in fact, to all the nitwits who keep accusing you of being jealous, that ALSO has NOTHING to do with this issue or your question.
She wasn't at the beach. She was on a public airplane, where many many people, of varying degrees of modesty, are likely to be. It's time people started acting like decent, considerate, human beings, and had some consideration for everybody ELSE around them for a change, instead of railing about their "rights."
You are dead-on correct. Ebbert is a skank. She dressed like a trailer-trash whore to get on a plane. And that's just judging from the photos they have let us see. I'd like to see how she actually looked when the employee pulled her off the plane. The news reports now all say she had to
"cover her stomach." Well, in all the file photos of her in the outfit, her stomach doesn't show. So those photos are not presenting her the way she looked when she got pulled of the plane.
If she's going clubbing, fine. But not on an airplane.

I just saw the story about the woman Southwest said was not dressed appropriately for there place of business. I was a little puzzled myself. While I would tell my daughter that to wear that is to degrade yourself and entice responses that she would not welcome. The photo shows a girl dressed to get looks and turn heads. I don't appreciate it but.... I then heard that the pictures were of her after the adjustments were made. Look at how everything is in the standing photo I saw. Her skirt is way low almost around her bottom. The customer rep asked her to pull "UP" her top and pull "DOWN" her skirt. Now adjust that photo to reflect that. I would not want my son or daughter exposed to that or myself for that matter. If I wanted HOOTERS style I would go there. When did our selfishness overcome our own sense of respect for others. If you go to a water park you will see signs that say "PROPER SWIMWEAR IS REQUIRED". I appreciate Southwest looking out for "ALL" its customers. I also think we as a country have become so narcissistic that we are upset we can't do whatever we want regardless of how it affects others. I doubt that Miss Ebbert would be so protective of someone who smelled horribly sitting next to her being escorted off for being a disturbance on the plane. I know the difference is she is SEXY and that is desirable. But the reality is both have the potential to cause many people some very unpleasant experiences while using a service THEY PAID FOR. Southwest has the right to govern their business to maintain whatever standards they chose. If it was "HOOTERS AIRLINES" I would expect that level of sexuality being displayed. I hope we can get back to mutual respect for each other especially in areas where we need to be able to endure each other in close quarters for sometimes extended periods of time. Would I have complained? Probably not. But maybe I should. We all should consider how our choices impact others. It was selfish on her part. She was not at Hooters, a strip club or a night club. She was in a confined space with strangers and should use some "COMMON?" courtesy. I think the saddest part is that her mother saw what she was wearing and didn't see a problem. But I guess that is no surprise with a country whose children are becoming more and more out of control. You can't expect kids to understand common courtesy, self control and self respect if the parents don't teach it. I wish her the best and hope someone can help her understand before she has kids herself.
Respectfully.

I think the situation could have been handled much better by Southwest.
It is a very interesting topic and I see why it is getting the attention it is. There are many issues it touches on, and I'm sure "society" has been looking for a way to define some of the terms that are beginning to define the next generation's style.
My opinion is that SW was in the wrong, a female flight attendant should have addressed the concern, and there was no reason to remove her from the plane, give her the blanket, and ask her to cover up if someone was offended. But I do not feel it should have even gotten to that. In one word: overreaction.
Now the other issue I see:
Being courteous.
Remember, we're a diverse community of people with diverse opinions. Everyone wants to be treated with respect, and showing respect to others makes the community better for all members.
Venting, ranting, or using hate speech.
Yahoo! Answers isn't a soapbox to vent personal frustrations or rant about issues. We are a community of people with diverse beliefs, opinions, and backgrounds, so please be respectful and keep hateful and incendiary comments off Yahoo! Answers.
I'm hoping you took these into account before you began?

She is still attractive and you do sound jealous. Your opinion is of course still valid even if you are not as attractive as she but if you happen to be much less attractive I would find your argument un-convincing. As far as kids go I can say for myself that before I was old enough to be attracted to women I was completely oblivious to any particular manner of dress. Parents seem to get all up in arms about something they take issue with and use the kids as their reason for the offense when it has absolutely zero effect on the kids themselves. Then, there is the sex issue... Would you be as offended by a man wearing short athletic shorts and a tank top? If the answer is no then I think you should rethink your values, as they may be sexist and hypocritical. Last, who cares what she wears? People need to get over the puritan streak we were raised with in this country and realize the idea of revealing cloths being offensive is something we invented there is nothing inherently immoral or offensive about it.
From what I read about the airlines the situation was handled poorly. If Kyla was going to be asked to leave being told that "this is a family airline" and "your showing too much skin" is like saying that you are not as good as myself and others on this flight. The holier than though message may not have been intended but it’s obvious that it is what the flight attendant thought regardless of the airlines policy. It’s arrogant, presumptuous, and offensive. Your remark “She must be flying to see her pimp” connotes the same attitude.

First off, Anelina Jolie was hot for as long as it took to shoot Tomb Raider, but anyway, I did see the outfit Kyla Ebbert was wearing and there really wasn't that much wrong with it. The skirt was a little short though, and yes on that show, you could see her panties when she sat down. My daughter would not be wearing that in public. The top part was not revealing at all.

I haven't seen the picture from the Today Show but I have seen the one on Yahoo News and I don't think her outfit was inappropriate. I've worn miniskirts and short shorts even shorter than Kyla's and I've never been hassled by the airlines. I admit, sometimes my outfits don't cover very much but its so hard to find cute summer clothes that isn't too short or too revealing by some body's standards. Even a knee length skirt is probably considered indecent exposure to somebody out there so whose standard do you abide by? I'll probably think twice about my outfit next time I fly though since reading this story. I sure wouldn't want to go through what Kyla went through. That must have been terribly embarrassing for her.

Are you joking me? I went to school at UCLA and I live in Orange County. Let me tell you this outfit that she is wearing is a NORMAL EVERYDAY spring time college outfit for any girl in Southern California. Furthermore, compared to other girls, sure her skirt is short, but I have seen girls on flights dressed just as scandalous if not worse.....girls with mini skirts and ridiculous cleavage. Her top is very much covered. Additionally, there is no way anyones going to see up her skirt on the flight--i don't know what flights you go on but last time I checked everyone faces forward. I'm assuming you aren't from Southern California.....cause if they had a dress code policy against girls who dress like this then a lot of girls from Socal wouldn't be able to fly.
You say you are not jealous but I'm willing to bet a hundred bucks that you do not have the body she has--cause if you did you wouldn't be writing this and you would be defending her choice of clothing. Her outfit is NORMAL. The only reason she got called off the plane was because of ONE female who I am assuming is jealous of her body and told the flight attendant she felt uncomfortable. I wouldn't be surprised if it was you actually...

Why is it that women are often criticized for their clothes? Why do women have to dress in a way that makes men feel comfortable?
She was going to Arizona. It's hot...she wore a summer outfit. So What? Do you want her in a heavy coat or a hijab (Muslim headscarf)? No matter what she wore, some insecure idiot would be offended. Secure people don't go around criticizing others for their clothing or appearance.
There was a time when stewardesses were forced to wear skimpy skirts. That is what makes this whole affair kinda nutty.
Come on, this guy most likely wanted face time with a beautiful young girl and figured that harassing her was the only way he could get it. I hope it costs him his job!

Look, she seemed like a very nice girl. And she is extremely stunning and beautiful. I wish I had been on that flight!!!!!! I'm flying Southwest from now on!!!
Some girls are probably jealous of her. She has every right to wear what she wants as long as you can't see anything inappropriate. I see ganstas walking down the street all the time where I live and there pants are down to their KNEES and you can see their @ss. There are many worse things than that, so why don't you pick on some of those other people.
I think it was very conservative style and there was nothing wrong with it. I couldn't see anything inappropriate.
Don't go calling her a $lut. I'm betting she is a Catholic virgin that is very religious.
