I am looking forward to seeing that movie I love Adam Sandler he is very talented. But I saw an Australian movie called Strange Bedfellows starring Paul Hogan I am wondering if I now pronounce you Chuck & Larry is based on loosely on that movie which I thought was hilarious. I do understand that the movie is based on a true story which I sincerely doubt.

They are practically identical.. just with a different humor..

for the girl who said the only common thread was two straight men acting gay.. did you watch strange bedfellows?

Two best friends, and FIREFIGHTERS, decide to pretend to be gay for business reasons using the new tax law.. (one because his wife screwed him over financially, the other his pension would screw his kids over).. they are notified that they are sending an investigator who is going to be watching them, talking to their friends/relatives, and basically making it so that it's not a secret.. It's the same freaking movie.. just minus the beautiful lesbian daughter and her equally beautiful partner.. oh.. even the club scenes were almost identical..

Want a bigger tip?.. there is an identical line..
paraphrasing, but it's in both.

I don't really care that they think I'm gay, it's that they think I'm with you.. and then they go different ways and one says he's better than him, the other that he's better looking.. same damn thing..

However.. *stepping off the soap box* it was still a decent movie.. I enjoyed it.. and I love Strange Bedfellows.. (although, I must admit.. I can't see Paul Hogan without the shiny short shorts anymore.. it's warped my brain.. (good thing I was already a lesbian I guess)_.. I think Chuck and Larry was a bit more modern.. having the guys in SB living in a small rural town in Australia is really the only big difference..but they do go into Sidney.. Honestly, the thing that brings this way up in my estimation is NOT the main characters.. Ving Raimes was great.. similar in some ways to his character in the movie Holiday Heart, but.. he really brought depth to this small role..

no. it's not. people keep saying it is. but it's not. go see the movie. it's funny. the only thing they really have in common is two straight men pretending to be gay.
