It sounds like this room is away from the Downtown casinos. If you stand at the end of the Fremont St experience and look away from the casinos, you will see lots of old, seedy buildings. You will see No-Tell Motels and Roach Joints. I have the feeling that for $100/week, you are staying at one of those places.

Fremont street extends from Las Vegas Blvd all the way to the south east going towards Hoover Dam. It at one time was the main highway from the dam to Las Vegas. As such there are a ton of very old motels and hotels along the road. If there is a hotel on that street for $100 a week, it has got to be one of the crappiest dumps in the city. Probably the same kind of place that will rent you a room for a few hours for $20 so you can entertain a "lady" friend.
If your friend is trying to get you into a hotel like that, he is not much of a friend...

Now day, $100.00 can't even get you far, and if you could get by for whole week with that among of money, hey, go for it. To me sound like it's some abandoned motel's the rooms so old and rots that even cockroach's are leaving, but rats has to stay to runs the business.
I would wait and call for directories or some sources of in formations, otherwise, you don't want to take a chance to Las Vegas without a bankroll, unless you have a job right the way, it's a cold town in hot Summer's day if you ran out of money.
Then again, you never know though take a chance, nothing risk nothing earn they says.

yes, both the Gold Spike and the Western near Fremont Street offer dirt cheap rooms. A double room at the western (though i think it closed about a month ago) cost $15 a night!!!! You don't reserve at these establishments, they would look at you funny if you walked up to the check-in with a reservation, lol. Personally i wouldn't stay in either but its up to yourself...........
The poster that said there are no hotels in las vegas with rooms under $100 is completely wrong. Stratosphere often offer me rooms at $30, Sahara $35, Circus Circus $35, Gold Coast $30 and Orleans $40.

The price for a good room in Vegas depends upon when you go. If you want to go for new years eve you will pay top price. But, consider this.
Almost all of the big hotels on the Strip are great. The most important things to consider are location, price, and in the summer you want to consider the hotel’s pool area. So, stay on the strip in the center of all of the hotel locations so that you can walk to see all of the hotels and casinos, and all of the free attractions. The best place to stay to do that is in one of the hotels on or nearest to Flamingo Rd & the Strip. At that corner is Caesars Palace, Bellagio, the Flamingo, Ballys, and the Paris hotels. I am not saying you need to stay in one of these but stay close to them. I do recommend the Flamingo, Harrahs, and Monte Carlo hotels if you are looking for a good price, location and pool.
The next thing to consider in picking the BEST place is price. Rates go down in the summer (and again after Thanksgiving, until about mid-January (except new years eve when prices double)). So pick a place that has the best price for you. Caesars, Wynn, The Venetian, and Bellagio will cost top dollar all of the time (like $150 and up) per night during the summer. The Flamingo, Ballys Monte Carlo, and some others you can get into for around $100 (but most times for less) during the low seasons. Its also more expensive in all Vegas hotels on Friday and Saturday nights by $40 to
$60 more. So to get a lower rate plan to go to Vegas on Sunday and stay through Thursday night.
In the summer you probably want to spend some time at the pool areas, which in Vegas are fabulous. All of the big hotels have great pool areas. But the Mandalay Bay, and Monte Carlo hotels have a wave pool and a lazy river for tubing or body floating. The MGM hotel has a huge lazy river and a water fall. The Flamingo has a water slide (not big but nice and refreshing) and also a water fall. The pools at Caesars and Bellagio are good because they have multiple pools and plenty of places to sit. Caesars even has a topless pool areas called the VENUS POOL.
I have stayed at Mandalay Bay, Excalibur, Paris, MGM, Monte Carlo, Bellagio, Caesars, the Rio, the Flamingo, Ballys, and Harrahs. But the BEST place for me when I go is who has the best price. So shop the web sites, look at the hotel rate calendars, and go when the price is the lowest. That's the best place to stay on the Strip.
You can probably get lower priced rooms at the Circus Circus, Sahara and Rivera on the north end of the Strip, the Tropicana on the south end, and also at the hotels on Fremont Street. The Tropicana is one of the older hotels that has not been renovated like many others. The other locations will place you a long way from the center of the strip action and you’ll have to take a bus or taxi to Strip action. In addition, if you need to run to the room for a little R&R, it’s a long ways.
I stayed on Freemont Street many years ago when I didn't know any better but would never stay there now.

Yes, it possible. plus tax of course.
But Freemont St. is in ghetto Las Vegas. If that doesn't bother you then come on down.
Yes, call them direct. Try yellow pages.com for the number.

You'd have a hard time finding anything that you'll want to stay at for a week for that price.
Below is a site with prices from about 15 bucks up per night.
But remember tax is on top of those prices

I doubt it, $100.00 a week is extremely cheap. If you do find one, make sure the hotel you find is reputable and not Jim's hotel or the no tell motel.
