try selecting a time on a weeknight like 10 or something and be sure to tell him. then, one night, decide to go to bed at 9:30 because you've had a long day or u have a test in the morning. this will show him that you are mature enough to make decisions based on different cercumstances

Bedtime? I'm 13 and don't have a bedtime. Most of the kids I know don't have a bedtime. I go to bed around 11 pm though on the week days because I get up at 8:30 for school and on the weekends I go to bed whenever I want. If I was you I would go to bed on the weekends at least at midnight.

A mature person is respectful of an elders decision and always follow the rules of the host. If you are living with your dad or staying at his house on the weekend then you need to abide by what he says.
However to answer your question, At 14 you should be mature enough to sit down and discuss the " bedtime issue" with dad.
You two can surely compromise on a reasonable time.
At 14, I think 10 or 11pm is a reasonable time. In my house it would depend upon what was going on for the evening.

I don't really think being mature depends on what time you go to bed.
I would say that i am quite mature for my age but i don't really have a set bedtime and i go to bed whenever I'm tired.
So I think that you should just go to bed whenever you're tired because thats what going to sleep is all about isn't it.
Or if its a school night go to bed fairly early
Showing him that on school nights you go to bed quite early shows that you are responsible enough to realise that you will need to wake up early in the next morning

By the time my son was 14-and he's 18 now, that was something he pretty much decided for himself. He was responsible enough to know the later you stay up the harder the time you might have the next day. But if you are able to handle it you'd be surprised that if you're not given a set rule about it you don't really think that much about it and actually don't stay up as late.

For the weekends, I think for a 14 year old, midnight is a reasonable time. You are still young though and sleep at your age is still important.

when i was 14 my curfew was 11pm but i was allowed to hang out with friends on my front porch till my parents went to sleep.... maybe you should let your dad set a time and compromise... say okay if i abide by this curfew for so many months .... then will you consider making it later since i've shown you how responsible i am.
