charity, charity and more charity. Give, in order that you might receive. Smile, for there is none that needs a smile more than s/he who has none to give.
Smiling is the beginnings of showing Love, as defined by Mother Theresa. They are infectious, they set the tone, they're like boomerangs that usually come back to you!
However, happiness is an internal state of mind. No one can make you happy, if you leave your happiness up to other people, so that they have power to validate your happiness, then thats leaving others in a very powerful position, and as humans are fickle and selfish, this is not advisable. Create your own happiness, find some quiet time to establish what makes you happy and then go for it. Sometimes happiness can be found in small things, things which come free, which are priceless, like, have a lie in on a Saturday morning (consider that others can't afford to do this and then learn to appreciate these small things).
I once read a little paragraph written by someone who said something like this:
Would you sell your eyes for a million pounds, or your arms, or your legs, or any of your senses? The most valuable things in life are things you already possess, if only you could appreciate them...

Ive read on one of time magazines articles that relative happiness is genetic. In other words, you will probably be more or less the same amount of "happy" 20 years from now wether or not you have a great job or hot wife.
But on the smaller scale, you can always make yourself more happy by playing games or hanging out with friends etc.
oh also watching TV is known to reduce stress.

First from what level are you increasing your happiness from.To what level do you wish to increase it to. A target to the correct level of happiness for the individual person is a positive action and to be applauded how ever before setting of down the road to greater happiness evaluate your expectations.

Live for the NOW! that means live for the things that are happening rigt now, not the future because its not here and won't be and certanly not the pass as this is gone but the past is what makes people unhappy so i suggest that you look at the past for a while see if there was any time that you are still worrying about if not the again LIVE FOR THE NOW.

Learn to play an instrument or write lyrics or sing, or even better, do all of these things. music is like the great inspiration of my life. it's the most meaningful thing i've ever done. it's absolutely amazing, making something of your own and having people enjoy it.
