A polynomial is function such as x^5+x^4-x^3 +17 = 0

A rational function is of the type (x^2+x+3)/(x^5-x^2 +7). A rational function is the quotient of two polynomial functionns.

If there is a variable(s) in the denominator, then it is a rational function.
