Whitney. Hands down

I know Dolly does without having to hear that horrible Whitney Houston song again. First off anyone who was ALIVE when the Bodyguard was out knows what her version sounds like. It was all that was played on basically every station. Actually I think Dolly's sounds so much better because the song WASN'T a traditional love song, like they tried to turn it into. So clearly the WRITER would know the best way to sing it.

Actually I knew Whitney Houston's version first and hated the song because it sounded so terrible, that should give you a hint as to how bad I thought she sounded. As to the comment that Dolly's was in obscurity, that is because WHY she wrote the song. It wasn't meant to be a number one song or something.

I didn't look at the clips but I knew the Dolly version before I did the Whitney Houston, and I much rather hear the Dolly version.

I love Dolly and she is a wonderful singer, BUT this is one of the best vocals of all time. This song was somewhat in obscurity until Whitney re-did the song. Minus the fact it came from The Bodyguard Soundtrack, and Whitney is getting off crack and Bobby Brown, lets hope she makes a comeback.

Advantage Whitney

I like the duet Dolly did with Vince Gill.

Dolly wrote it so she should sing it better than Whittney.

Dolly sings it way better...she puts her emotions into the song and she sings it, unlike Whitney who SCREAMS it....

Definately Dolly with no doubt. The song was meant to be sung country.
