Cannibal Holocaust
Salo
Last House on the Left
I Spit On Your Grave
...all of these movies have been banned in some countries. I wanted to know if anyone has seen them and what you thought of them. I saw Cannibal Holocaust and I had to turn it off in the first 20 minutes. But I haven't seen any of the other ones.

i turned off Cannibal Holocaust because 1) only reason i watched it was because my friends said we "HAD" to. because it's supposively the most controversial film ever made. What I did see was one real on-screen animal killing (i didn't know it was real til afterwards) and one awful graphic gorey rape scene that made me feel physically ill. that's when we turned it off.
I think you can find all of these movies somewhere, except for Salo. I think that is pretty universally banned.

I actually taught a kid that was only 9-years old and he had seen I Spit on Your Grave. This little monster was able to watch anything and everything he wanted to. Some of these are still floating around here where some people have recorded them. I haven't gotten the nerve to watch them, and when you said about the animal killing I couldn't take that. I can't take stuff like that.

I watched part of I Spit on Your Grave in my Women in Pop Culture class at UNL, in which the title character kills a man with a motorboat in revenge for a brutal rape. I believe the original title was 'Day of the Woman.'
I've never seen Cannibal Holocaust, but I know there are on-screen animal killings that make me sick just to read about.
I've heard of the other two, but don't know much about them.

I have "I Spit On Your Grave" & "Last House on the Left" in a "Banned Film " box set
To be honest they aren't that bad
For instance, the rape scene in "I Spit On Your Grave" (only used as someone else has commented on it) is much less graphic than the ones in "Clockwork Orange" or "Straw Dogs".
Other films in the set are "Driller Killer", "Zombie Flesh Eaters", "The Evil Dead" and "Nightmares In A Damaged Brain"
None of them are any worse than Saw, Hostel or any other modern horror film.

They are not my type of movie but I have seen a couple of them. I think they are extremely, graphically violent, but I don't understand why they should be banned.
