Writing of songs, a genius without a doubt. As a singer, way overrated because he obviously can't sing very well. Most folks like him because of the way he writes his music and the music itself and tolerate his singing.

Lyrically, Bob Dylan is a genius. I think he's one of the finest poets of our times. Consider this song, "A Hard Rain's Gonna Fall"

Over rated. His lyrics were OK but he sang a dirge.
Look at covers done by others: Jimi Hendrix a prime example. So much more life and oomph in the songs.
