I have a savings account with Etrade and I've had no trouble with it. The account is linked up to my Bank of America checking account, so if I need money out of it, I just transfer it. Also, I can put money into it from my BoA account. It's much better than my BoA savings account - it pays something like 100x the interest.

There might be a problem of getting your money out without a computer or getting cash in general. It looks like a good place to stash your emergency funds if you have access to a computer when you have such an emergency. It's not like you can go to a branch and if they give you a bank card, there might be a fee each time you use an ATM with that card.
