Good luck.

Rent (hopefully a 2 bedroom in southside)
Well I live in a 2 bed flat in the southside and I am paying €800 per month. That is cheap but you would normally pay about €950 it. I've just lived in it for years without the rent changing.
Council Tax? (do you pay council tax? i forget)
As Conor said...just the dreaded bin tax to pay which is a pain in the rear but communal places like where I live tend to include it in the rent.
Electricity/Water/Gas (monthly?)
I pay my ESB per month and it's about €50 average. Water is paid for by the landlords but I don't think it is much so if you're renting, i doubt you need to worry about that. And I had to look at my mum's gas bill but for 2 months, she paid just €67.
BroadBand (eircom?) (monthly)
I use Eircom broadband. Including line rental (I don't use the phone) and one of the higher packages available, altogether costs €70 but there are much cheaper packages available and other companies to choose from - DEPENDING ON WHERE YOU LIVE THOUGH! Not everywhere is broadband enabled yet.
Food (per week)
Well there is just myself and my fiance and we pay about €70 a week on shopping. Going out to eat in a restaurant is expensive though. Even a coffee and a doughnut will set you back close to a tenner in some places!
Petrol (per week)
I don't have a gas gussler. My car is quite economic so I spend about €50 per month but I don't do huge mileage. About 150 miles a week at most.
Insurance (car and home)
Don't know about home but my insurance, on a 1.4 litre Astra is €862 full comp, all the trimmings. Then again, this will vary for you depending on age, licence, previous insurance etc. Very hard to tell too if you don't have a car to judge. I will give you some advice though....go with Hibernian. 4 years running, I still can't find cheaper.

Hi,
I lived in Dublin for 4 years.... And actually, it is quite an expensive city to live in I find, and 17K euros a year seem little to me, it would really be something like the minimum salary,... but of course it depends on your way of living. A room renting on your own in a flat in town would be around 500 month I'd say, but there are also some cheaper things away from the center, like many foreigners choose to do. There are also cheaper opportunities when you share a room...but it's not too nice. And also, you know, it's really really easy to find some jobs in there, so I would consider changing jobs also! The average salary is something like 32k a year. 23-26K as an entry salary is reasonable to expect. About the food, not many big supermarkets in town, it's more small Spar and expensive ones. But well, TEsco, Aldi I guess are good enough.

Good luck

Dublin has become very expensive in the past 10 years. Yes, you'll have a great time, but you definitely won't save any money.

As with most EU members ad 50% to your budget.

I visited Dublin for the day it was expensive.

no, its the rice of te Guinness, monetary and otherwise you have to watch

in Jamaica, the Guinness has more alcohol and costs 100J, like $1.50 I imagine

at that price you might have a wife who yells at you about spending too much on beer, maybe even on the second day, if you are Irish

It's pretty reasonable in Dublin, Ohio.

Depends on what sort of place you want to live in!

I would guess around £350 - £700 per month - depending on your eating habits and choice of place to stay!
