Whatever the scientists may say, life is created by nature and it cannot be improved upon.
Now, if you asked for a strategy to improve the QUALITY of life, perhaps your question would have a little more validity.
Unfortunately, I disagree with your suggestion. I suspect you are thinking of materialist improvements on the Western model. I think we should all get back to a more natural lifestyle and do away with all electronic gadgets. The amount of CO2 expelled by all of those people on their mobile phones is probably the most significant cause of global warning after cows farting.

That's a very vague question.
Life isnt perfect, Im sure we all agree but then I dont think it can be if it involves free will and hundreds of cultures and belief systems....
Are you proposing an ideology for a new world order? Do you want a global utopia? Are you suggesting that we all pray to a guardian angel?
Alternative could simply mean different to the current (ie remove currency) or it could mean new age (ie get involved in some hocus pocus chanting.)
You cant make people have common sense, you cant even get them to see the truth when you provide evidence, it's a sad state of affairs and I think it's best left alone for now, perhaps if aliens arrive on the planet it will unite the human race and give voice to reason. I wouldn't hold your breath though.

alternatives stategies to imporove the quality of life in a global scheme.?The well-being or quality of life of a population is an important concern in economics and political science. It is measured by many social and economic factors. A large part is standard of living, the amount of money and access to goods and services that a person has; these numbers are fairly easily measured. Others like freedom, happiness, art, environmental health, and innovation are far harder to measure. This has created an inevitable imbalance as programs and policies are created to fit the easily available economic numbers while ignoring the other measures, that are very difficult to plan for or assess.Understanding quality of life is today particularly important in health care, where monetary measures do not readily apply. Decisions on what research or treatments to invest the most in are closely related to their effect on a patient's quality of life.http://www.neweconomics.org/gen/

I think any strategy to improve life would help.
I don't think most people are even trying at all.
most governments are not trying.
most companies could care less.
so, does that mean that any strategy is an alternative strategy?

We all need alterantions... Life wouldnt be life without choices... We have gift of inteligence to try to choose right... Freedom of mind have its geometric effect in genereting future we want to happen... I mean... we are making amny choices to make good things happen to us... like we are saving our life to live longer... like we are taking care of food production to avoid hunger... like we work to have households... Its not our nature to destroy what we need or want... although we have always choice to destroy it... what happens... if something goes wrong... or we dont use inteligence properly... Alternation means we can have another choice about building our future... Many people things world is going to fall... It will... if we do nothing or we fallow one way track... We can change future almost all the time... but... waiting to long or having no care... has one dark answer... Meanwhile... Alternative strategy is everyone free choice... Those who fallow deserved to be blessed... Those who not... they better think what is their responsibility... and at least save what they can by their own way... Alternative strategy is a move... step to chose diffrent way... from what I know its step in better way... better future... and maybe even survivalence... of humanity... or even life itself... since we are powerful enough to destroy everything, save it or... maybe even prosper... depending... what is our choice...

Yes. And I'm living it. I'm a greener, solar power, biodiesel, grow as much of our own food as we can. I work for a green company at a recycling center. I use renewable fuels as much as possible.
If everyone tried it we just might have a future to improve!
