They seem to be somewhat, but the nature of the non-traditional student is also changing. A decade or two ago, most of them were women returning to the college after raising their children. Many of them got married and had children early, interrupting their educations. Right now, we seem to have more job-changers who had some previous form of education, but who want to pick up something more current.

Yes, by leaps and bounds! There are many nt's in my classes; first generation, immigrants, esl kids, and older adults who are changing careers (like me!). I'm also noticing that there are many just back from Iraq.
