I should have conceived aug. 8, 9 or 10th and that is the last time i had sex. i took a pregnancy test 33 days after my last period on july 25th and it came out positive. yesterday i went to the er because my spotting turned into a bright red color after spotting for 5 days. they said if i was pregnant i'm not miscarrying but the sonogram showed no baby in the uterus and my hcg levels were at only 63 so if i was pregnant i would only be 2-3 weeks according to them but according to my last period i should be 6 weeks. is that even possible to be only 2-3 weeks even though i haven't had sex in almost a month? i have to take more blood tests but can't for another 2 weeks but they gave me no answers just that maybe it was a false positive even though i still haven't gotten my period. has anyone else had a similar experience??? no one can seem to give me answers

A mans sperm can live in a womans body for 5-7 days so you could conceive up to a week after you have sex. The hcg test can also change from day to day depending on your body. Mine was still really low when I was six weeks but then it spiked when I was tested again around 8 weeks. There are a couple of weeks that are unsure in the begining but you usually get a better idea of how far along you are after 8 weeks.

Also there are many cases of women being pregnant and never knowing it. You could have fertilized an egg and the spotting is the starting of you passing it. I had two of these "pregnancys" after the spotting it took a couple weeks for my period to come back.

If the last time you had sex was August 10th, then you would have implanated about a week later and your levels would be near 1000 by now. You may be miscarrying, and the doctors cant tell you for sure that you aren't this early. Sometimes the body re-absorbs the egg if it's early enough and then your levels drop. A positive pregnancy test around August 28th would put your levels at least at 50, depending on what test you were using, and 2 days later it would have doubled to 100, and continues doubling every 2 days. A level of 63 is way too low for you now. That, along with the spotting/bleeding I would say for sure you have miscarried. I'm sorry.

I think the sonogram could be a week off so if 2-3 weeks then 4 weeks seems plausible. Also, yes sperm hangs out for days so that is another factor. They should have been able to take a blood test to see if you were pregnant tho. I'm confused too. More worried about your bleeding, what was that about?
