It's been going on for atleast 2yrs now...and it's getting ridiculous. During every commercial break during football games (actually all sports...but it's the worst for football games) My eyes and ears are assualted by a "patriotic" Chevy commercial, accompanied by John Mellencamp's "This is our country" song. I can't F'ing take it anymore. I've never met someone that doesn't want to scratch out their eyes and rip off their ears everytime one of these commercials comes on. Why doesn't Chevy realize this? Why don't they change it? It has to stop sometime, right? Please God, tell me it will stop sometime! Does any of you like these commercials or that song? If so, please explain why. Is there anything we can do to make Chevy stop?

i am right with you, i absolutely hate this commercial.
it promotes america as a hick, cowboy nation.
chevy is obviously trying to sell their product to these kind of people and trying to piss off 80% of the population who doesnt like riding horses and running squirrels over then cooking them for dinner.
its about time that someone else hated this song with a passion.

Well, I'm not a big John Mellancamp fan but the song/commercial doesn't make me want to scratch out my eyes or rip off my ears. Maybe you could time your snack/beer/restroom breaks with the commercial? Or use the mute button?

You could find out who does Chevy's marketing and write them, get others to do so. But really it seems like a lot of effort over a commercial. How long were we bombarded with "Like a Rock" by Bob Segar? (That may not have been Chevy, but the point is it stopped.) They will move on eventually.

That song haunts my nightmares. They actually played that at Arrowhead stadium last season on the jumbotron. I thought that I could get away from it during home games, but I was wrong. It's like a horrible virus that has no cure. Between that and the Cialis commercials, I just want to puncture my eardrums so I can't hear anything.

It was better than that dodge commercial w/ the two robots punching each other during Fox's BCS coverage last year. They played it atleast once every commercial break.

You're dead right on that one. When I read your question i realized the song was stuck in my head without me even knowing it, just because I watched the game last night. I'm sooooo sick of that commercial and that song. Does anyone actually watch football games to decide what kind of car they want to buy anyway??

Also, I'm not looking forward to the ENDLESS Peyton Manning ads....

Take yr 'laser rocket arm' and whack it.

Better John Mellencamp then hearing Hank Jr sing ..."Are Ya Ready For Some Football???"

Maybe I'm bias as I'm from Indiana like John ! :D

I kind of liked it the first 100 times I heard it but the next 10,000 times made me want to stick icepicks in my ears. Besides, John Mellencamp can't sing, he's just an aging hippie that can't carry a tune in a bucket.
