well one of those things is entirely dependent on others giving an opinion. And the other is not always important. I think perhaps this question is a question to our egos. When we spend time looking at our ego then perhaps the intelligent answer would be the most important. I don't know I shall have to have another think.

Unfortunately people who are physically attractive win over those ones who are not and may be very intelligent.
It's very hard for an ugly but very intelligent person to go far in life these days.

My answer to this is, "It's better to be intelligent!" I watched a clip of Miss South Carolina being asked by Aimee Teegarden, "Recent polls have shown a fifth of Americans can't locate the United States on a world map. Why do you think this is?" Her response was, "I personally believe that U.S. Americans are unable to do so because some people in our nation don't have maps and our education such as South Africa and Iraq and everywhere like such as and I believe that they should our education over here should help the U.S. or should help South Africa and should help Iraq and the Asian countries so we will be able to build up our future."
I wanted to scream when I saw that clip! President Dwight Eisenhower said, "Only an alert and knowledgeable citizenry can compel the proper meshing of the huge industrial and military machinery of defense with our peaceful methods and goals, so that security and liberty may prosper together." We need people who are wise, discerning, and capable of seeing what must be done and doing it.
Not that I have anything against Miss South Carolina - the question was indeed a difficult one - but I would be overwhelmingly impressed if she had said, "Aimee, thank you for the opportunity to answer a question so relevant to the state of our Union. It is my impression that if in fact these polls indicating that a fifth of Americans are unable to locate the U.S. on the map are statistically accurate, this stems from a failure of our educational system and a malaise of geopolitical awareness by our citizenry. We must make every effort to rectify this matter by ensuring that the proper curriculum are available in schools, and that all Americans everywhere not only understand where we are on the map, but where we stand in the direction of freedom and the proliferation of liberty among our world neighbors."
THAT would really be beautiful!

intelligence. you do want to carry a conversation-a logical one at that, once in a while, right? when you are out having a beer, you don't want to be staring at e.o, right? bc that would be boring! physical attractive will not last very long. but there are many people out there that have both attractiveness and intelligence. also, most find intelligence more attractive. i like those who are witty! intelligence with a flare of humor! they are the effin best :-)

I think that there are very attractive people in the world. That doesn't necesarily mean that one could be mentally attracted to them. See just because someone is easy on the eyes doesn't mean that you could have a relationship with that person. I have known many good looking people but when I got to know them they were the ugliest people I've ever met. So sure to be physically attracted to a person helps it is by know means everything. At all.

It is much more important to be intelligent. That will last until you get to be very old and start suffering from memory loss, dementia and maybe Alzheimer's. Althought physical attractiveness can certainly help in getting your foot in the door.

Intelligence.
Attractiveness is in the eye of the beholder so what is attractive to me may well not be to the next person. however, Intelligence is there for all to see.

Well ideally both, but I guess its better to be intelligent as then you are capable of getting a good job, earn lots of money, and then get plastic surgery.

If you want a 'good' job certainly. If you want a lover perhaps not; it depends on the intelligence of the one you want!
