You can type any of these into Google and it will do it for you. See link below.

To do it yourself, you need to know the conversion factors. Then set up an equation so you can cancel the unit you are starting with and end up with the one you want.

a. 285 cm * m/100cm = 2.85 m
b. 0.85 kg * 1000g/kg = 850 g
c. 42.2 in * 2.54cm/in = 107 cm (to 3 sig figs)

a.) 100cm = 1m so, 285/100= 2.85
2.85m (Centi - stands for /means 1/100 (centi is a portion or 1/100th of a meter)

b.) 1,000 grams = 1 Kilogram so, 0.85*1000= 850g
850g (Kilo means one thousand so Kilo Gram means one thousand grams)

c.) You have the answer, just multiply. 42.2 inches to cm.
1in=2.54cm
so 42.2in times 2.54 =107.188cm

Read through your text book it will teach you how to do these, I had to learn how to do these in school also, and believe it or not we did not have the internet as readily available in 1994!

a) There are 100cm in 1m, so there are 200cm in 2m, and 280cm in 2.8m, and 285cm in 2.85m
