The complex phenomenon of why mosquitoes bite some people instead of others isn’t completely understood, but the Biological Informatics Office of the U.S. Geological Survey has the current theory.

Mosquitoes are attracted first to carbon dioxide, which is exhaled by humans and other animals. Once they’ve homed in on that, they may be attracted to various odors coming from people, including perfume, perspiration and detergents.

They may also be attracted to the lactic acid produced when humans exercise. When combined, these odors make different humans more or less attractive to mosquitoes.

I have a theory on this, I barely get bite by mosquitoes(If I get more 1 mosquitoe bit a year thats alot for me). I think people who eat alot of meat or poultry are more like to attract a mosquito bite. I believe the body chemistry of a person who eats meat has a different sent then someone who is a veg. like me. But thats just my theory!

It's the amount of acid that a person has in their system. Also an old folk tale said they bite Indians more than any other people. Just a wise tale and I know I'll probably get some feedback on this one.

Mosquitos are attracted to Carbon Dioxide. The more CO2 you breathe out, the more mosquitos you attract. Chemicals like DEET mask your chemical signature and prevent mosquitos from zeroing-in on your CO2 trail.

Some people have blood-types, body odors,
or diseases and lifestyles (drug/alcohol abuse)
that repel or attract them more than others.
They're also attracted to dark clothing and certain fabrics. They person's deodorant, perfume, body wash/soap and cologne are factors as well.
Then some people simply aren't allergic to their
bites. They don't feel a thing as they are immune
to these bites.
