There's no law against selling a vehicle to an illegal alien. It's not up to you to determine the immigration status of whoever wants to buy your truck. Just sell it (get cash), and then get a form from the motor vehicle department called a 'Release of Liability'. Essentially, it puts the department on notice that you no longer own the truck, and that someone else does, so if it gets a parking ticket, or isn't registered, or whatever, the ticket doesn't go to you.

Well, since you KNOW he is illegal you should not participate in any business with him. While it is not likely to be prosecuted it is illegal to aid a criminal in their crime (it's called conspiracy)

When you sell a vehicle, you normally complete a form called "sellers report of sale" that shows that you sold the vehicle. When I have sold a vehicle I went down to the licensing department with the buyer and had the transaction performed with me standing there.

You aren't responsible. You don't even need the bill of sale notarized. Just make a copy of the bill of sale, and keep it for your records. Only the new owner is required to have the bill of sale notarized. It isn't your responsibility to police illegals. Without proper I.D., it will be impossible for him to get a new title and lisense unless he takes the vehicle back to Mexico. He will probably sign the ownership over to an American citizen and have them get a new title for him. It's pretty common.

There is no law against you selling your car to him but he will probably have trouble registering it. Your boss is probably referring to a transfer of title. Once that's done you can wash your hands of it. If the new owner can't register the car because he is here illegally then that's his problem.

Just do a bill of sale and have it notarized. No worries; there is no law against selling one's personal property to an illegal.

Nope.
It's illegal, since he's here illegally.
