No, you don't count 'twice for 2 stories'. Perimeter is the distance around your home. You can use a ruler, a yardstick, a measuring tape or a measuring wheel.

Here's a link to Home Depot. This is a cheap measuring wheel that is very handy. If your lawn is hilly, I would suggest using a tape, though.

The only reason you would count twice is if you wanted to go around it twice,like if you wanted to put gutters on the first floor and gutters on the second floor then you would just measure once around the base to get the perimeter of the house then multiply it by two. This would give you how many linear feet of gutter you would need. Hope this helped. GOOD LUCK!!

The perimeter is the total length of your house's footprint on the ground. Even if it was a ten story building you just go around the outside with a measuring tape once.
