1) Southwest airlines does not have a dress code therefore there is no dress code to enforce except for the decency laws in the state the plane happens to be sitting in at the time.
2) Because she was not breaking a dress code southwest was way out of line for attempting to enforce an arbitrary standard on one customer on one particular flight despite a suppossed customer complaint.
3) The correct southwest response should have been to offer the offended customer accomodations on the next flight if this person was so seriously impacted. In other words they should have nicely told the complainer to mind their own business or take the next plane out.
4) How dare southwest try to impose the morale views and fashion standards held dear by one customer on another. They had the duty to tell the complainer that they live in a diverse world and the other passenger was doing no wrong and has a right and privledge to dress as they please as long as it is lawful. I hope she sues to make a point here

I saw this story on the Today show this morning. First of all, her skirt was not overly short, it came to mid thigh maybe a little above (just like all the girls are wearing) she had a white scoop neck t-shirt. No cleavage, and it came down to her butt. She had a short sleeve. short waisted, button down, shirt over the T. Totally not inappropriate. When they asked to come to the front of the plan they told her she was dressed inappropriately and if she didn't change she would have to take the next flight. She said she didn't have any luggage with her but that she would pull her skirt down as far as she could and hold her shirt closed (I don't know what she was covering, you couldn't see anything.) They allowed her to stay on the plane, she asked the FA for a blanket because she was embarrassed. On the return flight (same airline, same day) when she boarded the plan the FA said how cute her outfit was. Hmmmmm. I saw her in the outfit....the airline was nuts. She looked very cute and covered. I think some cow was jealous. All she wants is an apology or acknowledge that they were unreasonable. I agree!!

Thats not the 1st time Southwest has kicked somebody off a flight for beside the point dresses. They declare to sell a kin environment on their flights and rather strict with that one.

I saw the news story. Although I do think her skirt was short, I don't think that the airline has a right to regulate how passengers dress. As long as everything is covered up that needs to be, I don't see the problem.

She was a cute little girl, I didn't approve of the way she dressed, but I wouldn't have made her put a blanket over herself unless her *** was showing...or her other things.
I think it's silly, however, in the terms and conditions that come with buying a ticket from Southwest it says that one can be thrown off a plane for wearing things that are too provocative...and who's to judge? The supervisor...no ifs ands or buts....

I don't think I could fit that skirt over my but much less cover anything! I don't think she should have been pulled to the front of the plane to be talked to. The attendant should have just handed her a blanket discreetly and let her know he could see her yaya! Or, even better, let a female attendant do the talking.

People are not going to be blinded or scarred for life by seeing a little too much leg. I'd rather the attention of the air-crew be placed on more appropriate matters.....such as keeping the plane up in the air.

I didn't see it until I clicked on "mete's" link. I can't believe they're making such a big deal out of this. Can you believe the Today show gave it over 6 minutes of air time?

But give me a break. People need to get out more; she's skanky looking. Slutty and hot are not the same thing. She's rough;
Women need to stop dressing like ho's. Its ridiculous; I know we have the myspace society that is obsessed with gaining attention but come on. Women wear tiny skirts, fake chests, died hair, and they want men to be real.
I'm also not getting wearing tiny little skirts and then constantly tugging on them and pulling them down. Whats that about.

I wonder who complained ? If word gets out she'll probably receive death threats!
I thought she looked cute. I suppose if she pulled a Paris-Britney-Lindsay and was going commando that might be different.
