I am planning on going to graduate school and major in Information Systems. However, I do know much about exactly what information systems is. The only other thing I can major in that relates to computer is computer engineering and software engineering. Can someone help me brainstorm so ideas for a theme in Information Systems.

You may want to go with the BIG picture - Information Systems and it's role in the emerging world economies, military warfare, and social impact. Information systems in essence refers to the computer technology that manages information (relevant data).

Check out white papers and editorials on information technology from online sources. Google it.

Take a boot camp course for your MCSE, it's easy to do in a week these days. It's not cheap but it will give you tons of material to work with.
